Apple - Australia's newest supporter for marriage equality

Visit Australian Marriage Equality's website today and you will see the addition of the world's largest technology company Apple, the newest multinational supporter of marriage equality in Australia.

After announcing in 2013 as a major supporter of same-sex marriage in the US, Apple joins the Australian fight with over 900 corporations, with gay CEO Tim Cook actively backing the cause. Just last month Cook celebrated LGBT Pride with over 8000 Apple employees, friends and families, further proving that his leadership and support for civil issues is not going unnoticed. Following Cook on Twitter will see a consistent and constant approach to diversity across many issues.

Apple released the following statement, "Apple believes all people should be treated equally. That's why we think all Australians should be able to marry the person they love."

Apple is in good company, with other supporters including Westpac Banking Corporation, Google, PWC, Foxtel and American Express.
