As we enjoy the last long weekend of summer, filled with cold drinks and warm beaches, you may also be experiencing the challenges that can come with summertime parties and entertaining – the melted makeup, the sticky clothing and not to mention the sunburn and the resulting unfortunate tan lines!
If you’re not at all interested in the sticky meltyness of summer, you may be wondering what you can do to escape the challenges of a warm wedding season on your big day. Well, if you want to escape the heat you’re feeling right now, you can, with a winter wedding. A winter wedding is a beautiful and elegant alternative to a spring or summer celebration, and brings with it stunning style choices and delicious menu options.
When styling a winter wedding think luxurious furs for the bride and bridesmaids, and classy hats for the men. You don’t have to worry about squinting eyes in the photographs, and cloudy skies actually provide better contrast for photos than direct sunlight, bringing out details and avoiding bright hotspots. Not only will your makeup not melt off and the guys won’t perspire through their suits, but the flower bouquets will be crisp and bright all day long.
I also have a specially designed winter wedding menu with everything you’ll need for a cosy and unique celebration:
Canapés
A signature selection of hot and cold canapés
Starter Choices
Red lentil and pumpkin soup with a hint of curry and herb dumpling
Leek, feta and caramelized onion tart with a tomato zucchini salsa
Main Choices
Chicken fillet roulade seasoned with ham spinach sun dried tomato and pine nuts, spooned over with a creamy béarnaise chive dressing
Fillet of beef oven roasted, topped with a mushroom and red wine sauce
Dessert
The Wedding Cake served with drunken berries and cream
If you’re hanging out for the cool change, wait no longer – transport yourself there now by planning your winter wedding.
Until next time,
Love,
Cindy
