We are absolutely in love with this gorgeous styled beach shoot created by a group of outstanding creatives.

“When discussing with each vendor the thought of a styled beach shoot, we all agreed that we didn’t want the same old colours and styling that you see at a typical beach wedding. We wanted to convey something truly special that brides could draw great inspiration from for their own magical day.

For the styling, Rhiannon & Skye wanted to create an informal yet elegant beach side wedding experience for Annie & El to enjoy with their closest friends. They chose pallets stacked for the tables layered with different shades of fabric and tulle to create
a lovely soft moody feel. This was then paired with textured plates and marble accents alongside crisp glassware. No need for chairs at the beach, cushions layered with lovely fabrics and rugs for when it cools down throughout the night.

For florals, Andy kept the focus on a blue, grey and white palette. Soft, fluffy textures juxtaposed with smooth surfaces, like the lotus pods and the privet berries. Steering away from the typical ‘wedding’ flowers to showcase some beautiful, more unusual choices. The key flowers/foliage used are allium, hydrangea, eryngium and stocks.

The stationery drew inspiration from shapes found on our beautiful coastline in Australia with a blue/grey marble effect and hints of handdrawn silver foil. Kate wanted the invitations to have a natural flow and for the menus to enhance the styling of the place settings.

Hair and make up artist Gemma wanted to reflect each brides personality opting for a mix of glam vintage & relaxed beach styling, feautring some beautiful florals in Annie’s hair.

Kate loved to experiment with textures for this shoot, making a three tier cake with rice paper feathers and rice paper scales delightfully covered in a pearl shimmer, The bottom tier was to reflect drift wood pieces found on the beach and colouring to

bring all the little details of the table styling together. The second cake featured silver leaf, fondant beads, large doily and dream catcher. The guest favours were sweet cookies with handpainted watercolour and silver leaf.

Annie wore a vintage 1970s handmade crochet dress and El in an elegant but beach appropriate pant suit.

As a final thought to this shoot, each vendor wanted to bring awareness to marriage equality in Australia. Each and every person deserves to be treated equally and to be able to marry the one whom he or she loves regardless of sex, race, religion or any other form of discrimination found in today’s society. We wanted this shoot to be a way of showing our support to the community and to bring this conversation to the forefront of people’s minds. We hope (very soon) we will have marriage equality in Australia.”
